BUSINESS SET UP PROCESS:

1

Select the business activity and legal entity

The first step is to identify the exact business activity or activities that the company intends to undertake. RAKEZ offers a wide range of activities. The selected activities determine the appropriate licence type and any additional approvals that may be required. Establish a Free Zone entity, Non-Free Zone entity or Branch of an existing company.

2

Select the licence type and select the facility

Based on the proposed activities, the appropriate licence is selected, such as Commercial, General Trading, Industrial, Service, Professional, E-Commerce, Educational or Media. The licence should correspond to the actual activities. The applicant then selects the required physical facility based on the nature and scale of the business. RAKEZ provides options including flexi facilities, offices, warehouses and land for development.

3

Reserve the company name and submit documents

The proposed company name is submitted to RAKEZ for reservation and approval, subject to the applicable UAE naming requirements. Typical documents include passport copies, UAE visa/entry-stamp details where applicable, UBO declaration and, where applicable, an NOC from the existing UAE sponsor. Corporate shareholders require additional corporate documents such as the trade licence, incorporation documents, MOA/AOA and board/shareholder resolutions.
